A black swan swims among koi fish at the Byodo-In Temple Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, Kahaluu, O'ahu, Hawaii. The temple welcomes all faiths. It was built to commemorate the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. For me, the swan or goose is merely incidental but is a necessary contrast with the elegant texture of ripples and fish that serves as an almost painterly background.
